On October 4th, Google is set to host the Google Pixel 8 event in New York City that promises to unveil innovative technologies, including the much-anticipated Pixel 8 series and Pixel Watch 2.
This event is expected to showcase significant improvements and advancements in design, camera technology, performance, and more.
Here's a comprehensive overview of what to expect from this exciting Google Pixel 8 event.
What to expect from the Google Pixel 8 event?
The spotlight of the event will shine brightly on the flagship smartphones of Google, Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro, which are expected to feature updated designs, improved camera technology, and enhanced performance.
Google is also ready to introduce the next generation of its smartwatch, featuring enhancements in performance, health sensors, and stylish bands. With a new chipset, the Pixel Watch 2 is expected to operate faster and extend battery life, ensuring it keeps up with your active lifestyle.
While Google's events typically stick to their primary announcements, there's always room for unexpected surprises. Speculations also point towards a potential new Chromecast, although the absence of substantial hardware leaks suggests otherwise.

Although the event will take place tomorrow, some Google Pixel 8 leaks are already circulating on social media. According to GSM Arena, a YouTube short posted by PBKreviews, a channel known for disassembly videos and drop tests, shows the following items in the box of Google Pixel 8 series:

Here are some key details about Google Pixel 8 specs:
Pre-orders for the Pixel 8 series will come with a bundled accessory - Pixel Buds Pro for the vanilla phone and Pixel Watch 2 for the Pro model. The watch is expected to cost £350 on its own.
With the abundance of leaks, it seems like we already know what to expect from the Pixel 8 series. However, there's always room for surprises, and we can still look forward to the official announcement and any additional information that may be shared during the Google Pixel 8 event.
Pixel Watch 2
The first Pixel Watch, despite its integration with Fitbit, had some notable gaps in its feature set, particularly in automatic workout tracking. However, according to recent leaks, the upcoming Pixel Watch 2 is set to address this issue and more.
One of the most significant improvements expected to be announced on Google Pixel 8 event is the Pixel Watch 2 which has the ability to automatically start, pause, and stop workouts. This feature has been standard in many health-focused smartwatches and trackers for quite some time but was conspicuously absent from the original Pixel Watch.
In addition to automatic workout tracking, the Pixel Watch 2 is expected to introduce several other health-oriented features. These include a new Fitbit workout UI, stress tracking, skin temperature readings, and more.
While some of these features were previously reported, the leaked marketing material shared by Kamila Wojciechowska on Twitter/X provides further confirmation.

Pixel Buds Pro
Google is also expected to announce an upcoming update for the Pixel Buds Pro in the Google Pixel 8 event, which includes several exciting new features. Thanks to an early access program, Kamila Wojciechowska on Twitter/X was able to try out the new firmware and marketing brief.
Here are some of the key updates according to Kamila Wojciechowska:
Conversation detection: This feature uses AI to detect when you're speaking and temporarily switches the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) to transparency mode, pausing media playback. You can override this by tapping the earbud if needed
Support for SWB: The Pixel Buds Pro is expected to support Bluetooth Super Wideband, which doubles the bandwidth for voices, making them sound fuller and clearer. Additionally, the buds is expected to support Clear Calling on Pixel devices, reducing noise around the person on the other side of the call and enhancing their voice for better clarity
Hearing wellness: The Pixel Buds app will soon monitor how loud you've been listening to music over time and alert you when it's time to lower the volume to maintain healthy hearing
Low-latency gaming mode: When you open a compatible game on your Pixel phone, the low-latency gaming mode on the Pixel Buds Pro will automatically turn on, cutting latency in half for a more dynamic gaming experience
Chromebook compatibility: The Pixel Buds app will get a redesign for Chromebooks, allowing users to easily change earbud settings, switch noise control modes, and install firmware updates directly from their Chromebook
While some might argue that Apple's AirPods have more impressive updates, these new features are still a welcome addition to the Pixel Buds Pro.
It is also rumored that Google will offer new color options for Pixel Buds Pro.
